Brighton Caravan Park (Kingston Park)

The first fishing trip for the year, which was a short one to Brighton Beach, was quite a rewarding one as far as "happy hours" went.
Although the weather was good, the enthusiasm to get in the water amongst the fish, seemed to be lacking! Our leader of the past caught the longest fish (28cm) and won the basket of goodies. Congratulations Bill!
One member made quite a splash as he made his way out to his spot. We all thought he was going swimming! Keep trying John!!
The friendly staff and excellent food at the Yacht Club made our Friday evening meal enjoyable to all.

Wallaroo Nth Beach Caravan Park

Absolutely beautiful weather prevailed for the whole week for those who ventured to Wallaroo.
Because boats were being loaded and unloaded, fishing from the jetty was restricted to night fishing. Very few were caught there although two members did manage to catch 30 small Tommies which were BBQed the next day for the group for lunch, and supplemented with salads supplied by the ladies.
Audrey won the basket of goodies with a 32cm Mullet caught off the beach at Port Hughes. Rumour has it she was using her secret brew in her spring sinker!
The visit to Prices Bakery was interesting and nearly as mouth-watering as the complimentary potato pies.
Our "night out dinner" at the Anglers Inn proved to be good value for money and enjoyed by all.

Cobdogla Caravan Park
(B Fryer initiates the "Yellow Jacket")

Twenty members made the trip to Cobdogla and enjoyed the beaut weather we had for most of the week.
Bob Fryer scooped the pool for the largest fish and incidentally won most of the card games on the nights that we were not sitting around the lovely pit fire that was supplied by the caravan park owners.

Point Turton Caravan Park

A happy group of 28 people gathered at the Point Turton Caravan Park on Yorke Peninsula from October 21st for a week of "Pleasure Fishing". Unfortunately the weather was not very kind to us but some fish and quite a few squid were caught over the week.
One very interesting afternoon was spent being shown, by our genial Park Manager, Malcolm Clifton, how he makes fishing rods. That evening he and his wife Jenny joined us for a BBQ tea in the Recreation room. We also had the presentation of the yellow T/shirt for the biggest fish caught that day. After this we all joined in and raised the roof with an old time sing-a-long.
We also visited the Bublacowie Military Museum situated between Minlaton and Yorketown. The museum has been established by Chris Soar an Ex-Vietnam veteran and his wife Enid.
The photo above shows our happy group in front of our new Gazebo which was bought with a Government grant through ARPA. A great time was had by all and our thanks go to the organisers Margaret and Bob.
