Last Updated Thursday, 22. July 2010 Our very active group bring together, members that share a love of fishing, and who fish at various locations throughout the state. We usually visit three different places throughout the year, staying in caravan parks that have, over the past years, proved to be of exceptional benefit to our members. Social days are spaced in-between trips to allow members to reunite acquaintances and to meet new members. These social days are held at different locations around Adelaide and mostly in parks that have good facilities, or at a member's place. Click on the "Social Days" link to see the latest info. Although the emphasis is on pleasure fishing, competition within the group does exist. There is a Yellow Jacket awarded to the person who catches the longest fish for a particular trip. This is a perpetual award which carries over to the next trip. Numbers of fish caught are kept to decide the perpetual trophy winners for the men and the women at the end of each year. Also a "Jaws Award" trophy for the heaviest fish caught from the Point Turton jetty was added this year (2007). Prize donations in the past have been very generous. The ARPA PLEASURE FISHING GROUP is part of ARPA (SA) Inc and is therefore only available to members of ARPA. As a visitor you are quite welcome to attend two or three outings to observe how the group operates and how easy going fishing people are. Scroll down
